Pythium oligandrum degrades interspecies of mycelia on plasters, and under plasters and penetrates masonry too. After completing its task, it remains on guard for some time (preserved). When the masonry is contaminated again its activity is re-initiated and then it disappears. Thirty years of active research and verifications have not shown that an effective microflora composition can draw nutrients from organisms or materials, other than fungi that occur on masonry, for its propagation and does not release unwanted, let alone harmful, substances into the air.
Empty sachet of Pythium oligandrum into a clean, thoroughly rinsed, 10-litre container. Add 10 litres of clean water into the container. Stir the container content well and allow it to stand for 20-30 minutes, then stir once more. This suspension must be applied no later than 10 hours after the first mixing of biorepell with water. Pour the container content directly into the sprayer tank. The preparation may contain particles up to 350 μm in size. Use 365 μm filters in the sprayer. In the case of tank mixes, the concentrates are not mixed together but the products are poured into the sprayer tank separately, Biorepell suspension being the last. After use, rinse the application equipment with clean water that can then be poured out onto any plant growth, e.g. grass area.
Pythium oligandrum is an oomycete. It is a parasite of many fungi and other oomycetes including Botrytis, Fusarium and Phytophthora. It has been licensed as a biocontrol agent in the form of an oospore soil treatment, which reduces pathogen load and concomitant plant disease. P. oligandrum can grow within the roots of certain plants, including tomatoes and sugar beets. The production of auxin-like substances stimulates plant growth. Defence responses can be induced in the plant, which protects the plant from further infection by pathogenic fungi, oomycetes, or bacteria.
